Dr. Cardoza currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Academic Development at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Kansas City). He also works in consulting, speaking, and teaching for various organizations and churches. Dr. Cardoza has been married to Kristin since 1993 and they have two children, Dakota (09/96) and Christian Mateo (07/98).
Freddy was born in Oneida, Tennessee-- a small, rural town in the foothills of the Appalacian mountains. After graduating Oneida High School, he continued on to the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) and Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA) where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Church Ministries.
Following his Master's program, Freddy went to serve as an Associate Pastor/Minister to Students at First Baptist Church of Soddy-Daisy, a suburb of Chattanooga, Tennessee. For three years of that time, Freddy taught at Bryan College in nearby Dayton. It was there in Chattanooga that both of the Cardoza's sons, Dakota and Christian, were born.
Following his tenure in Tennessee, Freddy moved to The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY) where he entered Ph.D., and later, Ed.D. studies in Christian Education and Leadership, while teaching at Boyce College, Southern's undergraduate program.
In 1998, Freddy accepted a call to serve at the Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he also taught part-time for John Brown University. Nearly four years after arriving in Arkansas, Freddy moved to Chicago where he spent a few years leading the educational staff/ministries at Armitage Church, in addition to serving as Director for Southern Seminary's Chicago Extension, and Adjunct Professor for both Southern and Midwestern Seminaries. After completing his doctorate, Cardoza accepted a teaching position in Christian Education, and an administrative role at Midwestern Seminary. He holds the Ph.D. in Leadership and also completed all coursework for the Ed.D. (ABD) as well.
